Lady Gaga's Born This Way video is, upon first review, 2001: A Space Odyssey meets the Bible meets I'm A Slave 4 You's sauna orgy meets the (disturbing) crowning scene in Knocked Up. And I'm going to need a minimum of 16 more views before I begin to understand everything that's happening here, particularly Gaga's gooey-ooey galacticly kaleidoscopic placenta.
This isn't THAT bad, but it's not good either. She definitely built it up too much. I just really don't want this playing in the backround when they talk about gays. I refuse to let this so-so song be my anthem.
Top-notch CGI & cinematography work here. The visual intricacies this video might've been drowned by an overall laziness within all aspects of the song itself (which is a shame) but the most was done with what your dead-eyed, hungry stare had to offer, Gaga.
In the future, I hope she allows herself to take away the most important aspect of that which she emulates: Add personality to "shocking" images.
"Audiences require at least a shred of humanity. Even from their game show personalities."
McQueen horn make-up and kaleidoscopic prints. Gaga needs to stop taking inspiration from the same two people; Alexander McQueen & Isabella Blow. Originality is dead.
