It wouldn’t be an OMG.BLOG playlist without a sunny pop-moment. “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter has been on repeat all month, and we think it will be the song of the summer. This song paints a beachy, bubble-gum landscape with clever wordplay and cheeky lyrics:

“I can’t relate to desperation, my give-a-fucks are on vacation, and I got this one boy, and he won’t stop calling.”

If you’re hung up on a lover that won’t call you back, try flipping the script about it. Put this on and pretend you’re ghosting them. They’re so annoying, and you’re so hot! Can they please leave you alone? That kind of stuff. We love it!

If you’re going to release a sexy R&B song called “Nasty,” that means you are up against Janet Jackson, so, good luck. But actually, Tinashe nailed it with this one. Simple trap beats but still channelling a vocal range, and a smutty vulnerability. We’ve been dropping it low to Tinashe’s “Nasty” and we hope you will too.

This past month we’ve been loving the return of our favourite classy synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys. Their new album “Nonetheless” is consistent with all of their past works. Detailed sonic landscapes to make you feel like you’re gliding through space. Our favorite track “Feel” definitely has us feeling things.
