Durational performance artist Marina Abramović and 'Sex & the City' actress Kim Cattrall are real good squirlfriends, which is just super because I love them both; Marina for that piece "AAA-AAA" that she did with Ulay (Uwe Laysiepen) in '78 where they screamed into each others' mouths for ten minutes straight, and Kim because we both were born in Liverpool and moved to Canada, which I think makes us immigrational doppelgangers or soul sisters or something, oh and she looks hot for 56 year old, however I just look LIKE a 56 year old, she looks my age I look her age, basically.
Vmag eavesdropped on a phone conversation between the two, Abramović in New York, and Cattrall down south, researching for her upcoming role in Tennessee Williams' 'Sweet Bird Of Youth' at The Old Vic in London-Town.
What Kim had to say about Marina:
"Her mind sees things in a very serious way, but she doesn't."
...and what Marina had to say of her friendship with Kim:
"This kind of friendship that is free from the pressure...to be smarter than the other one or play power games or feel jealousy."

!! OMG, DECADENT MUSH?!?: the Campana Brothers' 'Brazilian Baroque' furniture !!
The recent Louis Vuitton collaborators the Campana Brothers [Fernando and Humberto] have created, amongst other pieces, a fluffy 'fur chur' with legs of gold leafed horticultural-ful and menagerie-ful legs, as part of their collection entitled 'Brazilian Baroque', although to me this reads a more indulgent 'Rococo Recliners', not to mention their even more opulent chaise lounge version.

!! OMG, lux clinicians: AISLING FARRELL !!
Bullett just included Tokyo-based Central Saint Martins graduate Aisling Farrell in their fashion designers to keep an eye on right now, and I think I might agree please.
I j'adore her use of clear plastic overlays and various off-white tonals that give her clothes a lux-clinical feel with those pieces under plastic casings seeming too precious and clean to fully uncover, in fear the models might BREAKFAST BARF on them ALBINO PEACOCK feathers. She spoke to Bullett of the concept for her latest collection:
"It's based on the natural phenomenon of static electricity. My primary aim was to harness this force and the interaction between different materials at an atomic level to create a kinetic display."

Now that '..Drag Race' has reached the finish line, we are all gasping for a sip of tea, and these couple of bitches are brewing a steaming pot of loose leaf EARL GAY:
Kevin sent me this a couple of days back with the heading 'Dynasty Shade Fest', which I think about sums it all up, these bitches are throwing the best kind of shade, that is rich privileged fur-clad lady shady shade, apart from the other best type of shade which is LAMP-SHADE, of which there are none in this scene, just lots of well tended to indoor tropical plant shades.

!! OMG, Sir Isaac Cute-on: Jamie Isaac's 'Softly Draining Seas' !!
Londoner Jamie Isaac is what, like 18 or something [?] and his voice is like a sweet cherub lark and the sound of his tinkly fingers on the plucksichordion makes me feel mushy squushy in the back door!
The enjoyment I derive from listening to him is kind of like the enjoyment I derive from looking at pictures of Justin Bieber's abs; totally legal now but still kind of wrong and embryonic, and I only site Bieber because he's legal now, and not Austin Mahone or Cody Simpson who aren't but are way cuter, but we are not looking or anything. Nope! No way! Never! Not at all!
Isaac's debut EP, 'I Will Be Cold Soon' is due out on June 24th through House Anxiety Records. !! OMG, sugar daddys: Beacon's 'TWWS' !!
Ghostly International signing Beacon's freshman LP entitled 'The Ways We Separate' is delicious. They commissioned sculptor Fernando Mastrangelo -who is accustomed to using edible ingredients in his installations- to produce their record cover. A limited 20 copies were encased inside the sugar sleeve which housed the record itself and additional artwork [after the jump] on the reverse.
You can view a wee video of the artist Willy Wankering about in his studio casting the candy covers, and listen to Beacon's 'Bring You Back' from that very same LP below.

!! OMG, dilated spectrum: CMYK bulbs !!
Holland-based designer Dennis Parren's CMYK bulb[available with his accompanying pinhole lampshade, below] casts coloured shadows of cyan, magenta and yellow...well durrr. It consists of a combination of regular white light and coloured LED bulbs to give your shadow puppet show an all round more vibrant pzazz, and makes other shadows look absolutely dull as crap boring in comparison.
Basically CMYK is the new black!
