"Reckless (With Your Love)" is the latest catchy house banger from T.O.-based production duo Azari & III. Dare I say this one has even more gay runway appeal than their last effort? If you're like me and you feel like stabbing someone when the DJ plays "Show Me Love" for the seven hundred zillionth time but still crave that '90s old school Detroit-meets-Euro house sound (by way of Canada), then this track is for us. An alternative title might be "Flawless (With Your Style)".

!! OMG, new Salem song + Gucci Mane remixes !!

Halloween is just around the corner and to prepare we're turning up the bass and listening to Salem's druggy, blissed-out noise pop. Who are Salem? They are two cute guys and one cute girl from the Midwest who have released two EPs, Yes, I Smoke Crack and Water, plus a few singles. Their most recent releases are the 7-inch single is "Frost" on Audraglint Records and a pair of Gucci Mane remixes.

You will be familiar with Salem if you are a regular reader of The Fader or other such music-meets-art-meets-street fashion websites whose writers breathlessly document and dissect their every fart. Could there be something in Salem's menacing lo-fi music that turns bloggers into brainwashed human time bombs à la the 1977 Charles Bronson Soviet paranoia thriller Telefon? Is that why their lyrics are so hard to understand?

!! OMG, new Charlotte Gainsbourg track! !!

French songstress/actress Charlotte Gainsbourg has released a free download of the title track off her forthcoming album IRM, due out in January. The album was produced, written and mixed by Beck and his influence is clearly all over this song: its hyper-rhythmic beat descends into a psychic drum freak-out amidst scanning, radiating and doorbell-like noises. You can watch a teaser video below in which Gainsbourg explains that "IRM" was inspired by her trips inside a Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanner. (In 2007, she suffered a minor brain hemorrhage following a water-skiing accident.)

!! OMG, new Kids on TV remix! !!

Kids on TV will celebrate the release of not one, but two new EPs Shapeshifting Mutants and Remixes Volume 1 with a party at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto tomorrow. As long-time fans of their hunky art party antics, we were happy to see them make an international splash when their Blocks Recording Club label placed 11th on NME's Future 50 list of "innovators pushing music forward". We couldn't agree more. To celebrate, let's all download a rather surf-y SIQUEMU remix of KOTV's song "Poison", which is taken from the Shapeshifting Mutants EP.

!! OMG, how eclectic: new Wolf J McFarlane mixtape! !!

It's a good thing we attend so many queer hip-hop jams in Toronto, otherwise we may not have ran into Wolf J McFarlane and his crew at Big Primpin's Hot Mess Summer Blow Out and then caught his performance at Yes Yes Y'All two nights later. Wolf just put out his debut mixtape UpsideDownDay TapeMix, an eclectic blend of R&B, soul, hip-hop, synth pop, backpacker rap, piano solos and Brooklyn indie rock. The man does it all. Our favorite tracks are "Grizzly Bear Pandas", a wistful rap redux of Grizzly Bear's "Two Weeks", and the spaced-out pots n' pans club jam "Pose Vogue". Listen to both below:

!! OMG, new Homophones song: 'Ona Judge'! !!

We first heard the sardonic summery sounds of Philadelphia-based band The Homophones in Bruce LaBruce's zombie porn flick Otto; or Up With Dead People. Their bouncy acoustic pop song "Everyone's Dead" was a highlight of the film's soundtrack. A re-worked version of the song can also be found on their debut full-length Holiday In Your Head (available to stream and buy via Bandcamp).

For a taste of what's to come, we've got a track off their forthcoming Grey Ghost EP called "Ona Judge" that features Markland Starkie of Sleeping States on back-up vocals. If you're in Philly this weekend, check them out at Cedar Street Studios' Bang for the Buck Bazaar & Concert.

!! OMG, lovely and lo-fi: Cheatahs! !!

A nice addition to the soundtrack for a summer in remission is Cheatahs, a new project by Canadian-born, London-based bedroom rocker Nathan Hewitt. Not only does he make lovely lo-fi guitar pop, Hewitt also wears adorable sweaters and designs his own record sleeves, which sometimes feature photos of his pet cat. Listen to the song "Some Powers" below. If you like what you hear, Cheatahs has also released a 7-inch single and posted a few more tracks on MySpace.
