!! OMG, hmmm, WONDER WHY they shelved it!? Lana Del Rey appears in disturbing axed Marilyn Manson video with Eli Roth !!

Check out Lana Del Rey‘s appearance in a disturbing shelved Marilyn Manson video where it seems she’s caught in a rape scenario with director Eli Roth.
The video also features Manson dressed as a goth sniper on top of a building. (WARNING! Total trigger warning for violence and rape related stuff after the NSFW jump.) What do you think? Edgy, or just plain tasteless?

!! OMG, watch Hercules and Love Affair’s “Do You Feel The Same?” video !!

Hercules and Love Affair has gone all infrared with the music video for “Do You Feel The Same?”
The song is one of the best track’s off Hercules’ third album, The Feast of the Broken Heart, and will be released as a single by house label Defected Records in February.
The video was directed Alex & Liane, stars dance ensemble The Forsythe Company and features costumes by designer Bernhard Willhelm. Band main man Andy Butler shared this making-of tidbit via the Hercules website:

“At the meeting with Defected, the eyes lit up, and I got to write an email to Josh Johnson, my friend at the Forsythe Company inviting him to get involved. I have been a fan of the Forsythe ballet for many years, and was waiting for the moment to collaborate. We then dreamed up the idea of getting in touch with Bernhard Willhelm, a mutual friend and the whole thing was a go.”

In related news, Butler has revived his Mr.Intl label and released the single “Soldier”/”12 Bits of Deepness.” Have a listen here and check out Hercules’ upcoming DJ/live dates after the jump.

!! OMG, a Q&A with Jimmy Somerville !!

Jimmy Somerville.jpg

Jimmy Somerville‘s love of disco is long documented. As the falsetto-voiced singer for ’80s pop groups Bronski Beat and The Communards, he covered classic hits by the likes of Sylvester, Thelma Houston, Donna Summer and The Bee Gees. His solo career has often detoured into disco and next year he returns to the genre once again with the album Homage.

Of course, he is a disco queen in his own right having contributed “Smalltown Boy” and “Why?” to the HI-NRG canon. We recently had a chance to chat with Jimmy over the phone from his home in London about the upcoming record, his current single “Travesty,” and his ill-fated meeting with Giorgio Moroder, among other disco-related topics.

Check out the interview after the jump!

!! OMG, Giorgio Moroder announces his first album in 30 years: Features Charli XCX, Sia, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Mikky Ekko, Foxes, Matthew Koma, and more !!

ad354d61.jpg
Legendary disco composer Giorgio Moroder is set to drop his first album in over 30 years titled 74 Is the New 24 via RCA Records this spring 2015, and the album is packed full on contemporary guests like Charli XCX, Sia, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Mikky Ekko, Foxes, Matthew Koma, and more! Moroder most recently collaborated on Daft Punk‘s last album.

“Dance music doesn’t care where you live,” Moroder said of the new track. “It doesn’t care who your friends are. It doesn’t care how much money you make. It doesn’t care if your 74 or if you are 24 because… 74 is the new 24!”

Check out the first sneak peak of the single below! It’s giving me a very Euro, Kraftwerk-meets-ZOMBIE NATION-meets-easy-listening type vibe, which I’m feeling.
