!! OMG, It’s like telling an 8-year old that Batman is his uncle: ‘Laurence Anyways’ US Trailer !!

The Moderat-scored American trailer for Xavier I Killed My MotherDolan’s third full-length film is breathtaking.
Laurence Anyways follows a straight male teacher who gradually comes out to his students, co-workers, fiancĂ©e and mother as transgendered. I gipped in my throat when I watched him walk down the school hallway in his kitten healed, trans look…very empowering.
The hamazing news is Gus Van Sant has decided to back this one as an executive producer, in order to bring the French-Canadian piece to a wider American audience; which suits Dolan JUST FINE:

“One of the first encounters I had with a more sophisticated cinema was My Own Private Idaho…It was the first time I had a sense of what cinema could be or should be made of: Freedom, honesty and intimacy. For me to be endorsed by Gus Van Sant is like telling an 8-year old that Batman is his uncle.”

!! OMG, Vivienne Westwood & Malcolm McLaren; on BUMFLAPS and HITLER !!

westwood_mclaren.jpg
Roger Burton’s vintage clothing website Byronesque has just released previously unseen footage of an interview by Roger with Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren at Burton’s Horse Hospital Punk exhibition in 1993.
HERE, Vivienne discusses her bone-font t-shirts -“rock/f*ck/perv” versions- [i want one that says “Xena Warrior Princess” in dinosaur bones], and basically, every time Malcolm talks, Westwood pipes in with “that’s not true, that’s not true”.
I could listen to Vivienne Westwood speak all blooming day; she has such freedom with words and is not afraid to speak around a subject to describe her insights as they come up:

“…I don’t have to say it in that way but it was like, you know, ‘you’ve tried to put all your hypocrisy under the carpet but we’re going to wear your hypocrisy on our back’.”

!! OMG, Some truth on HIV: Fighting the Stigma !!

r-SABRINA-HEARD-large570.jpg
Sabrina Heard has been HIV-positive for 23 years. In a recent Huffington Post interview, she tells how, despite advances in treatment and care of HIV the stigma around the disease still remains strong. Her interview is completely blooming humbling as she describes the mistreatment by and ignorance of medical staff -back in the 80s- towards someone with HIV and how she overcame her “numbing” crack addiction to begin to deal with the reality of her diagnosis.

“In fact, it has been an awakening for me…I might not have paid that much attention to my health otherwise. There’s no telling what I might have [done] by now if I wasn’t HIV positive.”

Fashion writer Derek Blasberg gives some holiday tips to ensure you are more of a ‘Classy Cat’ this year. Not like last year when you drank ALL the mulled wine Miss “Messy Kitty” [you know who you are girl!]
How dare he say re-gifting is unforgivably rude. I re-gift my old Melanie C Singles constantly. Bloody killer gift! “Tacky Cat” ? Eurgh, as if.
