!! OMG, WATCH THIS: Metronomy drop some earthy fall ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ type vibes in new video for ‘The Upsetter’ !!

Fall into fall with an early new video from Metronomy for The Upsetter, a single off of their recent album Love Letters. via DAZED:

Depicting a bestial woodland romance, it features a bearded lady creating a lover from leaves, straddling him until he stands up… and that’s just the beginning of the crazy, in a stylistic mash-up of Where The Wild Things Are, Miyazaki movies and Bigfoot sightings. Directed by Cali trio Encyclopedia Pictura, the video’s a spiritual sequel of sorts to their previous work – the strange beasts of Bj√∂rk‘s “Wanderlust” and the sinister visual for Grizzly Bear’s “Knife” – transforming those influences into five minutes of heartbreak in one of the oddest and prettiest love stories you’ll see all year.

The Upsetter is from the new album “Love Letters” which is available here.

!! OMG, LISTEN TO THIS: Stream Erasure’s new album ‘The Violet Flame’ produced by Richard X !!

Erasure have released The Violet Flame, their first album since last year’s holiday album, Snow Globe.
The band (who’ve worked with producer Richard X on this) says it’s been inspired by everything from Eurotrance to Giorgio Moroder‘s sound.

“I really love all his work with Donna Summer,” Bell says. “I love the feeling of those arpeggiated synths, rhythms just going on. Or the sequences going on and vocal on top. That’s sublime. Especially with Donna. She reached her peak with that. That was the idea behind Paradise. I was channeling Donna quite a bit — and Grace Jones, as well.”

Some great influences! Check out the album stream, in full, below!

!! OMG, Get Ur Freak On AGAIN: Missy Elliott to drop new album in June !!

mi.jpeg
If you’re wondering who will give you 2014’s “SONG OF THE SUMMER” — our bets are on Missy Elliott!
According to Timbaland, both him and Missy are readying albums for June, and Timbo took some time to speak a bit about their upcoming plan of attack, saying:

“Right now, we’re just preparing to get both our videos, our first singles, shot kinda at the same time”, he said.
“We want to do it as a movement and spontaneously… I just don’t want to move too ahead of her, and she doesn’t wanna move too ahead of me.”

We really hope that Missy can bring it with this album! The music world could use some of her style right about now, and I’m praying to the heavens that she doesn’t crack under label pressure and end up pairing up with like David Guetta or Swedish House Mafia or someone… That would be devastating! BUT I definitely think that Missy would never do us like that! Are you looking forward to some new Missy?
