!! OMG, the gays at Lifetime are working overtime! Network will air ‘The Brittany Murphy Story’ TV-biopic in September !!

Lifetime, the planet’s utmost source for quality programming, has announced its plans to bless us with a two-hour television movie, The Brittany Murphy Story based on the deceased actress and 90’s icon’s life! I can’t wait to see who they cast as the “poor-man’s” Alicia Silverstone!

The movie will recount the story of Brittany Murphy’s younger years, including her mother’s efforts to turn her talented daughter into a star in the 1980s and ’90s, and then leads up to her death. It will also touch on the aftermath, when her mother dealt with claims that her daughter’s death was not accidental.

If I know the gays over at Lifetime the way I think I do, they’re gonna put their brains together and make sure to highlight some of Brittany’s most pivotal career moments when they recreate these iconic clips:

!! OMG, casting news! Will Ferrell set to play Russ Meyer in film about making of ‘Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls’ !!

Deadline is reporting that comedian Will Ferrell is set to star as legendary filmmaker and cult favourite Russ Meyer in a film about the making of his film ‘Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls’. The film was written by critic Roger Ebert, now actors and Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill are also being considered to portray Ebert.

The script focus is the late 1960s, when cheap counterculture films like Easy Rider were minting money, and 20th Century Fox was struggling mightily over a number of big-budget flops. Meyer was already established as the outlaw helmer of softcore pulp films like Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill, and he wanted the legitimacy of making a studio film. Richard Zanuck, then head of 20th, gave him that opportunity because his profit margins were so high and his costs were minuscule.
When Meyer agreed to take on Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls, he insisted the script get written by Ebert, the third-string movie critic of the Chicago Sun Times who had written one of the few positive reviews Meyer had ever received. Given the esteem in which Ebert was held as a film critic when he died, it seems remarkable he meshed so well with Meyer and his brigade of buxom actresses. The film will follow that relationship, and the struggle with the ratings board. It became the rare major studio release with an X rating, but it became a big profitable hit and Meyer and Ebert stayed close until the former died in 2004. Ebert passed away two years ago. Ferrell, who most recently starred with Kevin Hart in the Etan Cohen-directed comedy Get Hard, is repped by CAA and Mosaic.

!! OMG, Romy & Michele want ANOTHER high school reunion (but Disney won’t let them) !!

Mira Sorvino, the actress who played Romy White in Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion has said that she’s lobbied for a sequel for years to the film, along with her co-star Lisa Kudrow and Robin Schiff, the movie’s creator and writer, — the only problem is that Disney is too busy making other bullshat to let them do it! I mean, really! Priorities people!

I don’t understand why Disney has to be such a nasty bitch about all of this! They should time that shit with the release of Kudrow‘s reboot of The Comeback and rake in those PINK DOLLAHS! The gays will practically throw them at them!

!! OMG, First Look At Poster For New SXSW Horror Favourite ‘HONEYMOON’ !!

MAGNET Releasing has been putting out some great horror lately, so we’re looking forward to seeing this: Game Of ThronesRose Leslie and Penny Dreadful‘s Harry Treadaway play a newlywed couple in Honeymoon, writer-director Leigh Janiak‘s hugely impressive feature horror film debut.

Honeymoon follows their characters as their relationship crumbles, no thanks to, let’s just say, “supernatural” forces. The descent happens once Bea (Leslie) and Paul (Treadaway) get settled into a secluded cabin that she once frequented as a youngster; there, during one bizarre night, Paul finds Bea out in the woods, naked and disoriented, and that strange incident triggers her mental and physical deterioration and his reluctant detective efforts, all of which collide in Honeymoon’s unnerving finale.

Honeymoon opens September 12th, and you can check out the trailer below!
